This RJ45 connector is intended for use with 4-pair Ethernet UTP,STP or FTP cable (shielded or foil twisted pair), commonly referred to as shielded Ethernet cable or shielded CAT5e.
The surrounding metal frame of the connector also allows them to withstand a lot of wear and tear.
